What I Like About Tone

So Tone and I had been planning to go see this band Dirty Sweet for a while. We hadn't seen them in over a year and they were playing at the Casbah , which is this really cool tiny little bar and I knew it would be rad. I knew Tone would be tired from school but he loves live music so I was just going to pump him full of caffeine and he would be fine. Well, my lovely friend Heidi invited me to help with the gift suites for the Oscars a few weeks ago and while we were there we meet this cute lady Cris who was going to put on a fashion show in San Diego and she wanted to use Heidi's headbands. Long story short, we got invited to go to the fashion show the same night as Dirty Sweet. Now most husbands in Tone's predicament would say no, no fashion show, too much work, go by yourself. Not Tone. He got all his work done early, went with me to the fashion show, loved it, and went to Dirty Sweet too. And he mingled at the fashion show. And he bought me a McFlurry. And he laughed at my joke about Mexicans while we were in line. And he made fun of the crazy rhythmically challenged girls at the show. And he took Buster out when I came home and passed out. And that is what I like about Tone- he is always up for anything his crazy wife decides to do. So while I enjoy the ringing in my ears left over from last night, please enjoy the pics of our fun times.

Fashioned For a Cause

Hey friends, if you are going to be in San Diego this Thursday you should come to the Fashioned for a Cause event. I have 2 friends presenting their stuff on the runway (Heidi and Heather of truebirds.com and Cris from lachicachic.com) and there is going to be a project runway competition between 3 FCC graduates. Super Fun!!! And its for charity so everyone should come :) It is at the W hotel. See you there

Erika's Adventures in Sewing

So I used to know how to sew. I haven't done it in a long time. I needed some little cases for my eye pillows that I use during massages. So Tone's lovely madre took me to the store to get some fabric and stuff and helped me make these lovely things. She also gave me her old sewing machine. ( I know I have a pretty awesome madre in law)

I also made a little bandana for Maddie. Buster tried it for a little while but he felt gay so we gave it to Maddie and she looked pretty stinking cute.

Well then I got my sewing confidence back so I decided to try a bag. Syndea and I signed up for a class to make a bag of your choice. Lets just say my old skills came back and I dominated in the class.

Oh yeah, thats a lining with pockets.

So next I will be making my lovely Mums a purse out of this fabric for her birthday.

Hopefully  I didn't get too confident in my skills and it will actually turn out decent.
